Is this a bug, or have i gone wrong somewhere? many thanks ~toaster

I don't see the previous and next links on the page, am I missing something?
I don't believe this should have changed between 1.7.1 and 1.3.1. With windows there is always the line ending issue, but that seems an unlikely culprit.

hi, coldstone, no, you're not missing anything. the problem is that they're SUPPOSED to be there. They're included in the template, but when the blog is created the links are missing. here is a link to the same site, but on the old server (it's not been deleted yet). When i changed hosts i rebuilt the entire site on the new server. oracle.fast-servers.net/~toaster/archives/00000009.htmlyou can see here that the previous and next links are working fine ~toaster

Ok, we are on the same page now.
I wonder if there is an issue with your templates for those links. Can you post your {{previouslink}} Template?

previous link template:
[<a href="{{previouspagelink}}" onmouseover="window.status='{{previousmonthmonth}}/{{previousdayday}}/{{previousyear}}: {{previousentrysubject}}';return true" onmouseout="window.status='';return true">Previous entry: "{{previousentrysubject}}"</a>]
this, i believe, is standard

Yeah, I guess I was hoping for an easy solution.
I am wondering if you change the template (but make a copy of the above text) to something simple to 'Previous' does it show the text? Also, I just wanted to make sure that your entry page has the {{previouslink}} and {{nextlink}} on it (no misspellings)?

tried changing template to [PREVIOUS], didn't work. still nothing showing. The tags are spelt correctly too. i thought there might be a problem with the css, but i can't see a problem. may be worth mentioning too that i have just installed 1.7.1 here: billmallonee.net/news.htm with the same results. Previous and next entry links are not working ~toaster

Hi coldstone, i know you're busy with loads of other things, but i thought i'd install a completely standard version of 1.7.1 to see if the same thing happens. it does check it out here: blog.webmunkii.net/blog2.htmli've looked at the generated source code and the i can see that the <p> tags where the previous and next links are meant to appear are there in the code, but the links do not appear within them. so, i thought i'd install a 3rd instance on this subdomain, but this time going back to 1.3.1 blog.webmunkii.net/blog131.htmlthe previous and next links work fine, i'm guessing it's a bug...though how it's gone this long without being picked up is a mystery ~toaster

wow, I am embarressed!
Thanks for pointing this out. I should definatly be able to recreate this on my local environment then. Hopefully there is time to fix this.
My apologies to everyone. Hopefully this was just introduced at the beginning of the when 1.7.1 came out.
