I have read through the forums and did find one thread about forbidden errors, but I am not certian it answers my questions.
First, the basic info.
Greymatter Verion: 1.7.4 Apache Server Diagnostics says everything is ok. I am certain the file permissions are correct according to the documentation.
When I go to add a new post, I get a forbidden error.
It does not happen all of the time, but the vast majority of the time.
My posts usually contain text, a link or two, a table or two, and a graphic.
I have found that I can make a post using a very short body like "TEST" and it will process properly. If the post is more than one or two sentances, the error occures.
It happens with both extended entries and with normal entries.
Sometimes I can make a "test" post, then go in and edit the post to say what I want it to say and it will save properly. Most of the time I still get the forbidden error.
Someone had posted something about limits which might be imposed by the server. Would such a limit apply only to the post being made or the total of all posts on the main page?
Like I said, this does not happen all of the time.. but it is exceedingly frustrating.
Any ideas from you GM Gurus out there or am I dead in the water?

The upload limit would only apply to the individual post. If you try to do a longer post, only consisting of 'test test...' for several paragraphs, will that work?
Previously, we found that some webhosts will block the gm.cgi script from running if it sees certain words such as 'poker' or 'javascript'.
When you are in a situation where you are getting the Forbidden Error, you can try to remove lines of your post, until it works. Then you will know what line caused the error.

Coldstone. Thank you for your response.
Before I respond to your suggestion, I did find that I could go in with FTP and download the 000XXXX.cgi file for the individual post, edit it and upload it and the post would work. After a few rebuuilds and such, I still could not edit it using the GM utility.
I had began to wonder if something in my post was causing the problem. I noticed that in the templates, instead of the <br> command, GM uses <br/>. So, I changed all of mine and tried it.. it still did not work.
I also found I could copy and paste the first line of the post all I wanted and it would work... but if I did more than that it would not.
After receiving your suggestion... I retried by typing "this is a test" within GM and then copying and pasting it multiple times in both the normal entry box and the extended entry box.. all went fine.
Next, I tried what you suggested. I reposted my post... one word at a time until it discoved the problem. Doing this... I FOUND IT!
I then tried new posts and with each post the same problem occurred.
Now, get this....
The problem is the word "FROM" <--- without the qoutes. I have not tried it with.
Any place I used the word FROM anywhere in my post, I received the same error. To resolve the issue, I just re-worded my post.
Coldstone, thank you for your help. I would not have resolved the issue without your assistance. Now I am gonna go see if there is a "bug report" forum so I can post the issue there.
Thanks again!
-Chris
