I use Greymatter since February '06 and now I will activate the comment-feature on my blog. The comment-box is visible but when I've tested it there came a 404-Error. I hope, somebody can help me ._. My site: blog.unfaithful-mirror.deGreets, Anny EDIT: I've done it by myself: the comments work now! You guys can close the topic.

Glad to hear it worked out. Because it might be helpful for other people, what was the problem?

Glad to hear it worked out. Because it might be helpful for other people, what was the problem? I just forgot to change the paths in the Configuration. Example: First I had this: bla.de/blog/cgi-binSo my comment-box doesn't work, but the other stuff worked, I dunno why. But I thought "Change this path in www.bla.de/blog/cgi-bin" and look: it works!

I should have given more information. Sorry. I'm using version 1.6.1 www.yenilianty.com/Blog/here's a screen shot of the paths i27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Jenearly/screen.jpgI changed a few appearances; I'm not sure if that's the reason why the comment system isn't working. It shows, and it resets fine. Before I changed the appearance of the form of the commenting system, it didn't work then either. So I'm really stumped. Please help me.

I believe this should fix the problem. Your "Website CGI Path" appears to be incorrect. Change that path from: http://www.yenilianty.com/cgi-bin to http://www.yenilianty.com/Blog/cgi-bin (Notice the 'Blog' before the 'cgi-bin'). Basically if you are going to www.yenilianty.com/Blog/cgi-bin/gm.cgi to log into the control panel, that is where your gm-comments.cgi script is as well.

Yeah, I feel really stupid now. I should have read "The website address of the directory where all your Greymatter CGI files are kept" My greatest apologies for asking a stupid question. Anyway, thank you VERY much for helping me... it worked!

Glad to hear, I am just happy there wasn't a bigger issue.

Interesting. I'm having the same problem and it was the website CGI path that was the problem. I changed it to point to the correct place, and saved it, yet when I try to make a comment it still the shows the old location with a 404 error. If I go back to the configuration page, the correct path is shown in the correct place.

Just to verify, can you copy the path from your config page and paste it into the url bar? Does it work then?
If you post your url, I can take a look.
