When I try to access the control panel log I get the following error.
An internal Greymatter error has occured in _padDigits, possibly due to invalid data, check your entryfiles and run Diagnostic and Repair.
(silly note: occured should be occurred)
I just upgraded to the latest version of GM, and I don't know if this was working with 7.2.3 as it was broke and is one reason I upgraded.
side note: pete's copy of 1.7.3 could not used; crc errors when expanding. phd is a broken link, luckily greymatters worked.

Thanks for pointing out the spelling, look for the fix in 1.7.4.
Viewing the control panel shouldn't invoke _padDigits, so that is worrisome. Are you able to run Diagnostic and Repairs?
When you get the error, what steps do you take? Are you just logging in and clicking directly on the cplog?

Sorry for the delay. life happened.
Anytime that I try to access the CP log I get the error (first when logged in or after doing anything).
Rebuild/diag works without error.
I'm installing a sub-blog on this site. I'll let you know what happens on this install. Difference being clean install v. upgrade

after installing a couple more gm sections to the site, I found that it is only with the upgraded section that is faulty.
I replaced the gm-cplog with a fresh copy, just because, and still have the same problem.
I thought I mentioned in the original post that GM 1.7.3.2 wasn't posting new blogs, so I was going to reinstall when I noticed the update was released and upgraded instead. I'm now thinking what ever broke is still lingering causing the problem. The site is still young enough that redoing the whole section won't break my heart.
If you feel that this is an isolated incident and don't think that troubleshooting is going to be of any benefit to you as far as possible code issues, just say the word and I'll install a fresh copy and move forward.
Thanks again

I wouldn't say no benefit. Troubleshooting can take awhile, but any new information is always appreciated. I am willing to help out until its fixed or you want to start a new install.
Going off of a hunch, can you post your gm-counter.cgi file? Also, make a back up of your gm-entries.cgi file, delete everything out of it, then do a D&R.
If you want, i can point you to a file that will create a 'trace' of what the program is doing and may help us pinpoint the issue.

Okay, troubleshooting it is then.
Deleted entries and R&D'd. still have the error. I don't know how to do traces so any info there would be great. (maybe I don't need to know either)

If you change the -2 to a 0, can you view your cplog?

Yes, I can view the CP log once I changed it to zero.

So Greymatter is confused about how many comments you have on your site. Basically, you can take an estimate and put it there, or just put like 100. Basically, that number is only used when it figures out the statistics at the bottom of the cplog.
