i've been racking my brain on this one for a few weeks.. maybe you guys can help me. my site is www.theselbychronicles.org. i'm trying to get the 'add a comment' to link to ONLY the comment form while trying to get the 'x comments' link to go strictly to comments only for that post.. yet they both go the same page. Currently I have those two linking to the same page... where the code is in the entry page template... which is the following code (not sure where else to put it): <p><font color="#FFFFFF" size="1" face="verdana"> {{entrymainbody}} </font></p> <p><font color="#FFFFFF" size="1" face="verdana"> {{entrycommentsform}} </font></p> <p><font color="#FFFFFF" size="1" face="verdana"> {{commentdivider}} </font></p> <p><font color="#FFFFFF" size="1" face="verdana"> {{entrycomments}} </font></p> <p>|AMP|nbsp;</p>
the {{commentslink}} code is as follows: <a href="{{pagelink}}" title="{{monthmonth}}/{{dayday}}/{{year}}: add a comment">add a comment</a> | <a href="{{commentspostlink}}" onmouseover="window.status='view the posted comments';return true" onmouseout="window.status='';return true">{{commentstatussmart}}</a>
should I be doing something different here than what I have? TIA.

I am not following you, the comment form should be on the same page as the comments, right?

Thats what is happening, yes. is it designed that way or is it supposed to be two separate forms? in a previous release I used about 4 years ago I could have sworn the comments form was on a separate page from the actual posted comments. I was wanting them on separate pages but I can't find a way to do that.

That is the way it was setup when I took over in 2006. It could have been very different 4 years ago. In theory, the comment form is just html, the only thing it really needs is the comment id number.
You might be able to work something by using the template "entrycommentsform". Thats the template that shows the form for commenting. The "entrycomments" shows the comments for the entry. However, I am not sure where you would put it. Basically, each entry has a page and that page has the information to show the entries and the form for it.
