HI. ;D I just installed grey matter 1.7.3 . I have windows XP. My archives path looks alittle like /www/log/archives. In my ftp software I cant CHOMD 666 my archives folder. Is there anyway I can fix this?

The reason you cannot chmod with your ftp is that this command is a Linux/Unix command and Windows has no idea how to do it. Here is a link www.le.ac.uk/cc/dsss/docs/acls1.shtml that will show you how to set file permissions on a Windows machine. A file or folder set to 666 can be read by and written to, by the owner of the file, the group the owner belongs to, and others (i.e. the world). Hope this helps, Carlos

well carlo I tried step by step what the page requested and got nowhere I went to tools, folder options, then view tab but I never seen anything about Use simple file sharing for me to unselect which stopped me from following all the other steps. I'm no rockit scientist at this..hmm Am I doing something wrong? is there something else I could do? thanx in advance carlo
