Hi there. Just downloaded GreyMatter 1.7.3 And now i'm trying to configure it. But I can't get the paths correct. Here's what the directory structure looks like: /var/www/cgi-bin/blog <- in here are the *.cgi files, and also de lang and libs dirs. /var/www/html/blog <- in here are the other gm-* files, and also the archives dir. (CHMODded to 666) At the configuration page, i used all the possible paths for the local path and the local entries / archives path. But every time i get the message: Can't save the file "/blog/archives/gm-testfile.txt". Please make sure that directory to save the file is CHMODed to 666 and try running Diagnostics & Repair from the Configuration screen. When i use the ../ option in my paths, i get this error: Error Notice We don't take kindly to that sort of activity here. Your attempt to break the script has been logged and the administrators have been notified. I'm really confused! Can someone please help me? Thanx in advance! Spookje.

/var/www/html/blog <- in here are the other gm-* files, and also the archives dir. (CHMODded to 666). Hi Spookje, According to step #10 of the installation your /var/www/html/blog/archives directory needs to be CHMOD'd to 777 not 666. I'm not sure if that should make a difference since there aren't any executed files in the archives. The only gm-* files in /var/www/html/blog is gm-icon.gif, and whatever you've setup as your main index.html filename, yes? There isn't any need to have a ../ preceding any of your paths. Where the settings ask for a local path that should be the full directory path, eg /var/www/html/blog whereas when it asks for a web path that would only need to be /blog for that same directory. Hope that helps. Geoff

However the error message said to CHMOD it to 666 But it doesn't really matter anymore. I deleted all the files from this script. Then i started from scratch. Guess what? It works now! Thanks for your help anyway, Geoff!
