I was a little surprised when i saw google both digging and dissing my posts. I was curious about who was karma voting on my site, since it isnt official yet. [05/20/07 06:43 AM] [66.249.72.19] A positive karma vote was cast on entry #4 (Test igen) [05/20/07 07:42 AM] [66.249.72.19] A repeat karma vote (negative) was blocked from being added to entry #00000004 Name: crawl-66-249-72-19.googlebot.com Address: 66.249.72.19 I guess its perfectly logical, since its just following the links, but it gave me a good laugh, and i thought i would share it with you.

Wow, I just got hit with the same thing. I was all worried until I googled the ip address and found the name.
You may have noticed a defect with the karma system, in that the same ip can cast a positive and negative vote (which to me seems silly). Yet another thing to fix.
I read that Google swears they obey the 'rel="nofollow"' attribute on links, so I added those to my Karma Templates.

Argh, I am still getting karma votes from google, even with 'rel=nofollow', so I guess google still crawls those links. I am going to email Google complaining, because I had found page where they stated they don't crawl those links.
Otherwise, people can always ban the googlebots. Banning will stop karma voting too.
