Hi again.
Um, i just recently had the need to actually provide a link for the archives now. and I have a few questions about it. (i'm using 1.7.1)
Previously, I setup graymatter to show nothing but the main entry. and only one entry by manually closing all the old ones each time a new one was made. i got rid of the menu, links, everything.
Now however, I realized i would like to have an archive link. i found the archive page and am about to go ahead and edit it and insert it in. but what i recently found out, that bothered me, was that the archive will only display open entries.
(as previously stated, i used a pretty lame "workaround" of having only one entry show on the main page at all times by always closing the old entries) i know. kinda lame. I would like to use the "days to keep on main index" setting and set it to 1 day. but there are days when we don't post anything at all and i don't want a blank page either.
so my question is. is there another way to show only the latest entry on the main index page, besides setting the "days to keep on main index" to 1 day, and besides me having to manually close all the old entries?
that's my main question. i think there is such a thing in the archives. which i think i found over here.

i think it's called {{logentrylist x}}
but i don't know if there is one for {{entrymainbody}} or {{entrymorebody}}
it'd be great if there was so i can set it to 1. and that way i can still leave all the old entries open so that they can show in the archives.
any ideas greatly appreciated.
ps. this is all assuming that if i did set "Days to keep on main index" to 1 day, that if i don't post anything new, the last entry will dissapear as well leaving me with a completely blank page. if i am wrong in this. then i think the problem is solved. i just assume it will do it but i'm not sure.
