This is an issue that we are working to resolve with the standard GreyMatter version. If you really want to stop comments you can always turn them off in your GM Configuration page. If you just want to deter spammers there are some modifications that you might find useful: greymatterforum.proboards82.com/index.cgi?board=gmfeaturemodrequests&action=display&thread=1156275178Its a discussion under requested features that has some code. I made a suggestion that won't work without some modification to the code. If you remove the submit button and make the user always preview, this can cut down on spam (seems like some of them are lazy). - In your gm-comments.cgi file, modify the 177th line (assuming you have 1.3.1 and make a backup first of the file). The line you are looking for is:
} else { Change this line to:
} elsif( $IN{'postit'} ne "" ) {
- Now edit your templetes with GM. Remove the submit button from the "{{entrycommentsform}} Posting Form" section. The line looks like this:
<input type="submit" value="Submit" class="button" />
- Finally edit the "Confirmation Form Template" section. Change the "Post It" button from this:
<input type="submit" value="Post It" /> to this:
<input type="submit" name="postit" value="Post It" />
Write back if you have any issues.
