Whenever I try to post a comment, the index.html uses a different style.css or actually one from the templates (header). After I post, I see the code of the page that the cgi is trying to display instead of the actual webpage. Once I go to the index.html, it's all changed.
Any ideas?

Is there a test topic you could post the url to? I would like to try posting a comment to see the issue.
Are you posting a topic to commenting on a topic? Depending on how your site is set up, posting a comment will change the comment page (like 00000001.html), not the index.html page.

www.stephaniediane.comIt seems after I run the diagnostics and everything is checked out as running properly, I go and make a comment on any one of the entries and it changes everything (the whole site) back to the default theme (css). Everytihng works fine with no problems until that point. If you or anyone else wants to IM me, my AIM is eluidzero. I will change everything back to the way it was just before making a comment and you or whomever can make a comment and see the change. I've been fighting with this thing for the last few months. If you need any more specific info, just let me know here or IM me. Thanks,

www.stephaniediane.com/cgi-bin/gm-comments.cgi#commentsWhen I try to add a comment I get this error: (it shows the code instead of the page.) Error Notice</font></b><p>Can't write to /home/shimmer/public_html/index.html. Please make sure your paths are configured correctly and that index.html is CHMODed to 666; also try running Diagnostics & Repair from the Configuration screen. Again, if I chmod 666 the index.html, it uses a default css. I'm not going to chmod it until I get some sort of response here or on my AIM. Thanks,

Hi,
just tried to post a comment at your site and got the same error. First, to fix the error, have you tried to chmod the index.html and have you checked your paths in the config area. Running diagnostics will confirm if GM cannot find everything it needs.
On the CSS thing, I am not certain as to your issue. Are you saying you have your own css file? and the comments are picking up the default css from a default GM install? - if so then this also points to paths not being correct. Can you try the chmod and diagnostics and if there is still an error let us know your site paths and URLS so we can have a better idea as to the issue?
cheers
Pete

As I stated, if I chmod the index.html to 666 it uses or pulls a different style sheet. Instead of the one that I want to use, it uses the default after the comment/entry is made. I'll chmod it now and hopefully you can get to it before anyone else posts and changes it.
