EDIT: ok after working on it all day. i finally got it the way i needed it.
you guys can see it here
www.legionofangels.net
if you're interested in how i did some of the things. i'll post em here.
for the avatar. it's actually not really setup per user/author. what i did was i put almost everything into it's own little div boxes. (i call them boxes
) containers basically.
so i basically put the {{entrymainbody}} in a small 100x100 div container so that the authers can put a img src of their avatar. (sadly, this was the only way to accomplish what i wanted) but i'm happy with it.
the author name and date/time i put in a div as well and moved to the top. and if you're wondering about the user title under the name. that one took a little creativity.
i used {{authoremail}} as the tool to use it. but instead of putting an email. i simply put the user title. pretty neat huh?
yah. so i basically don't think i need help anymore. but i'd be great if such options as avatars and user titles could be added in next release maybe.
i just wanna say thank you for this program. you're awesome. i spent WEEKS AND WEEKS testing out other blog programs and CMS's just to do what i did here. and none of them helped. you are a life saver. i think i might even wanna donate! where's the donate link! i need to support this awesome program. it's powerful in it's simplicity.
thank you for your time.
(especially since i actually understand how gm works and can play with it
)
anyway. this is my site where i'm trying to get it to work
www.legionofangels.net
the blog is in the iframe in the center
so basically. everything is nice and i like it. (ignore the ugly colors of my blog as i'm just assigning everyting diffrent colors so i know what's what)
i would like to assign an avatar to each author i allow to post. (plan to have 30 in all) since there was nothing much in the way of "creating author" i thought i'd try a workaround.
my idea originally was to maybe make a custom template. but that doens't really work.
so then i got a bright idea. i could make the "main entry" text hold the avatar and have my users simply post a url of their ava in there. and then type their main message in the "more" extended text part of their entry. all i gotta do is move the templates around and change the styles and divs
the part that i'm stuck in is i can't find an option to force greymatter to ALWAYS show the extended text completely. right now the only way to see it is by clicking the link. but i want to eventually get rid of the link and have the whole entry show up on the main page.
also i'm wondering if it's possible to only have the latest post show up in the main page only. and have any previous post, regardless of date, to always be hidden or just dissapear.
is any of this possible? am i going about it the right way? i know my needs are a bit interesting but i really want to do this. i hope greymatter can do it.
edit: ok. i think i figured out the part about forcing gm to show the "more" text on the main page of the blog. i found the tiny snippet of code needed in another area. yay! ^^
i guess now it's just whether it's possible to assign an avatar to every author. that would be great. but for now, i think my workaround will work ok. i hope

Hello. This is the first time i'm trying out greymatter after trying out a bunch of other stuff. i REALLY hope i don't have to uninstall this and look for another solution to accomplish what i need.
