Using Godaddy hosting, which claims that location of cgi files is irrelevant. Did not need to change perl directory, as it is standard /usr/bin/perl . Using FileZilla for upload. Followed all instructions to a T as far as I can tell. Right click in filezilla, change attributes by number (gui chmod). Uploaded all as ASCII except icon. Renamed gm_index.htm to index.htm. Hosting cgi's in subdirectory /cgi-bin Hosting log in subdirectory /log Hosting archives in subdirectory /log/archives Attempting to test greymatter software in subdirectory below my existing site www.sportsworddaily.comI put www.sportsworddaily.com/cgi-bin/gm.cgi in browser and receive 404 error. Any ideas? Thanks!

Aha error given trying to chmod through filezilla:
500 'SITE CHMOD 755 /sportsword/cgi-bin/gm.cgi': command not understood
What is an alternate route to chmod the files?
Thanks

Greymatter can be installed on windows, I just think you don't worry about the chmod (but not sure).
I think your gm.cgi isn't in the place that "http://www.sportsworddaily.com/cgi-bin/gm.cgi" is looking. I think if it was a permissions issue, it would give you a 'forbidden' or some other message. Are you able to create a test.html in the directory with gm.cgi and hit "http://www.sportsworddaily.com/cgi-bin/test.html"?
