Hi there!
I seem to be having a bit of trouble, none of the templates from my old version of v1.21c transfered over when I upgraded today. When the pages are recreated, they're all created blank (because the templates are blank I assume). The main index file changed from 16k to zero k in size after the upgrade.
I am being hosted by total choice hosting, it's a Linux server and the version of Perl is 5.8.7.
I tried copying and pasting over the old template information (from the old version) but that didn't seem to go too well. Dates didn't show up, the archives were a mess. So I wiped everything, put my old data back up and tried upgrading again. I unfortunately had the exact same problem.
Any help would be appreciated, if you need any more information please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you.

That is an older version of GM than I have worked with, so please be patient with me When you tried upgrading, did you go into you try editing your templates? Did they show up there? I am wondering if it might have been a different issue that caused the blank page. The format of that file changed to include the name of the template at the begining of each line. If the templates file looks ok (data there, lines beinging with stuff like 'geentrytemplate=...') then you could also check your gm-entrylist.cgi and see if you have your entry summaries. Also, you could try running diagnostics and repair. I am sure we can get you upgraded, let me know what you find out.

Hi, This may be a shot in the dark as I also dont have 1.21c but maybe you could try to upgrade to 1.3.0 or 1.3.1 first and then to 1.7.2. The 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 versions are here: web.petefinnigan.com/greymatter.htmcheers Pete

I'm also having this problem - the templates are just blank after I upgraded from 1.3 to 1.7.3. I've tried copying the old template files over the existing one, but no dice. All of the templates are just blank.

I will try to replicate this error on my local computer and see if I can spot the trouble.

Did you ever figure out this problem? Or fix it? Because it happened to me as well

Which problem? Can you give more information about the issue you are seeing? Please start another thread.
