I am guessing you have Activestate Perl? This document: aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/docs/ActivePerl/5.8/install.htmlSays that the first there numbers of your Activestate binary will be the perl version. Judging from your error message, I would guess that you do not have the full path to your /public_html/entries/archives location in your Configuration settings. Is your public_html directory really at C://public_html?

Let's keep this simple.
You are using XP for your Computer to get to the net, right?
But are you hosting your website on this computer or somewhere else?
What operating system is your web host using?

I think your system is Linux. When you upload files to your webserver, do you know what the path is? Are you able to run commands on your webserver or can you only upload/download files?
If not, there is a script to print out what directory your cgi scripts are in. From there it should be easy to see what path to use for 'archives' file.

web.petefinnigan.com/greymatter_mods.htm has a file 'pwd.txt', which you should rename and put into your cgi-bin. There are directions on the page. This will give you the information you need for your paths.

Its no bother When you say, not working, do you mean you get a page not found? I just tried it and it seemed to work. I can post the whole file here since its tiny: #!/usr/bin/perl
print "Content-type: text/html\n\n";
print <<"EOF"; <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>PWD</TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <H1>pwd</H1> EOF
$pwd = "the working directory is :".`pwd`; print $pwd; print <<"EOF2";
</BODY> </HTML> EOF2
Basically, paste that into a new file in your cgi-bin directory, give it execute permissions, then point your web-browser to it. Write back if you still have issues or questions.
