I "use" (happily, I must say) Greymatter on a couple of my sites. Other than SPAM-battling, the use is painless. I do not do anything magic with it -- simply modify the templates as needed for what I want, etc.
Anyway -
If there is someone out there who would comment back on the following: Thanks.
I have a reason to set up something similar to an online class/workshop environment. I do not have large dollar resources (who does, today?).
I expect to have only about ten "students" online at a time and an instructor to moderate the class during specific/known hours. The students would be, naturally, interacting at their own speed/time. As they do their work, they would no doubt share images of their work-progress (the topic is "quilting").
I can definitely do the above with the Greymatter that I have now(1.8.2).
Would you use Greymatter for anything "new" if you did not mind that Greymatter is no longer supported? (I can handle tech aspects OK and the class/workshop is not mission-critical! The students/moderator are something I can manage happy/sad/etc. if something breaks).
I Googled and see Wordpress mentioned. I have NOT used Wordpress and, for that matter, I have not looked at other solutions to Greymatter.
Any comment-back is appreciated; either here or via eMail (let me know if you want a pointer-to to find my eMail id if it is no longer around/accessible to you) if you prefer to comment "offline".
Thank you in advance; I am sure that if you respond you will save me time in further investigation.
Thank you, as well, for all that you have done over the years!
Regards, Dave Shogren

You may close this. I opted to take a look at "Wordpress" and at first glance it looks like I can get it started in a direction that I need. Thank you, anyway, for your work/help.
