Please update the Wikipedia article, the version I did only relates to 1.21b as that is what I still use ( :o)
I still find it funny every time someone requests that you be able to delete entries. As I am now at almost 3600 of them haha. Let me know if you need to test anything out as far as speed on massive amounts of entries. I played around a little bit with your new version today, I was annoyed at how the add an entry screen scrolls in 800x600 but most of the rest of it is okay. Why did you get rid of the horrible clashing colors? Haha j/k obviously. Glad someone is still working on this at least. Wait until the summer when school is done. I am planning a version that supports multiple blogs+cross users, drafts, and more.

Since anyone can edit the entry, anyone should feel free to update it.

Where is the entry? I found nothing. I consider greymatter to be notable, because it's a longstanding blog favorite, and some of the only software to use generated pages (more efficient, less carbon burned).

They deleted it bc they thought it was unnotable. Here is the old wiki text: http://en.wikilib.com/wiki?title=Greymatter&action=edit

I actually think that's a shame. If it's not notable today (debatable, but then we are the converted here) it certainly deserves to retain its place in history imo.

I'm appalled that all mention of Grey Matter has been removed from Wikipedia. The unformatted text of the final entry is available at http://web.archive.org/web/2006091300000....wiki/Greymatter. The debate that led to deletion is archived at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Greymatter.

I emailed the editor who deleted it with the following message:

Hi! You seem to have been the editor who deleted the Greymatter article back in Feb 2007.

I'm a novice at this, but the instructions at Wikipedia:Deletion_review seem to be saying that I should start by contacting you if I think there is grounds for recreating the article. Is that correct?

According to the archived discussion at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Greymatter it looks like most deletion votes were "weak delete", and a factor was that the software's Web site was no longer active. Since then the project was resumed under new management, a new Web site is up at http://greymatterforum.proboards.com. In addition, new versions of the software have been released, the most recent being version 1.8.2 in May 2008.

Even though the number of current users is small, I think the product's historical importance, combined with ongoing development and support, might warrant an entry.

What do you think? If you think it possible, what would be the next step?

I'll let you know if I hear anything back.

Hello all!!

I was sad to hear that Wikipedia took down the Greymatter page, so I took it upon myself to recreate it from the text listed above. I tried to update it, using my limited knowledge of the developments since 2005 (I'm still on v 1.3 myself).

Please help me out by editing it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greymatter_%28software%29
